The Heron Maker

She conjures birds from her hands in a quiet act of defiance against losing our wetlands. If only we could create more herons. Wildlife, habitats, and healthy ecosystems cannot be recreated through wishful thinking alone. They must be protected before they disappear due to sprawling development. The Great Blue Herons here are symbols of both hope and responsibility; their flight celebrates the wonder of the natural world while asking us to consider our role as its stewards. She is a guardian who recognizes the profound value of what already exists.

Inspired by the coastal landscapes of Florida, the painting reflects on the fragile relationship between humanity and nature and invites viewers to imagine a future where conservation is not an afterthought, but an act of reverence. Some things are too extraordinary to replace. We can only protect them while they are still here.
