Take a Right at Herschel’s Barn was inspired by the rural landscapes of Western North Carolina, where old barns and quiet pastures mark both the geography and the memories of a place. Painted after spending time in the region, the work explores the calm presence of the horse within its environment, allowing landscape and subject to share equal importance. It reflects my continuing interest in places that invite contemplation and reveal their stories through light, atmosphere, and a sense of belonging.
